PM Abiy Accentuates the Need to Invest in Education to Change Peoples' Livelihood

Dembi Dolo May 20/2018 Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed has accentuated the importance of investing more in education to change the livelihood of the people and the new generation. Speaking at the inauguration of Dembi Dolo University, Premier Abiy called upon all citizens to work hard towards a better life of the new generation through education. The Prime Minister urged all citizens of the country to exert utmost efforts in bringing multi-faceted change to their nation. He said that the establishment of the new Dembi Dolo University will bring a lot of opportunities to the people, especially in capitalizing human development through. He noted that Dembi Dolo and Kelem Wolega are well known in producing legendary scholars in the country. The Premier underlined that the people in the area should be able to use the opportunities, which will be created by the new university to improve their lives. He advised on the local people to teach and support students from other areas to understand and learn their language and identity. President of Oromia Regional State, Lemma Megersa said that the generation has to invest more time on education in order to solve the problem of their people and family. He mentioned that the interest of Dembi Dolo community is education since it is the key to development; this is the response to the demand of the people. The inauguration of Dembi Dolo University will take the total number of state owned universes across the country to more than 46, according to Ministry of Education. The university has 35 departments and enrolled 1,500 students this academic year.
