ECX Transacts 5.3 Billion Birr Worth of Commodities over Past Three Months

Addis Ababa, October 18/2024(ENA)-The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) announced that it has conducted a transaction of 5.3 billion Birr worth of commodities over the past three months.
In a press briefing he gave today to journalists, the CEO, Wondimagegnehu Negera said some 5.3 billion Birr transaction has been made through ECX during the stated period, which has an increment of 17 % from the target.
ECX is working to link its activities with the country's 10-year master plan by focusing on pillars of the Homegrown Economic Reform which are agriculture, industry, mining, tourism and digital economy, he added.
Hence, the CEO said ECX has made preparations to include additional products to the modern market system including Teff, flex seed, Eleusine coracana, leather and pelt and salt among others.
