Business Insider Africa Puts Ethiopia as One of Top 10 African Countries with Lowest Cost of Diesel

Addis Ababa November 28/2024 (ENA) Business Insider Africa has listed Ethiopia as one of the top 10 African countries with lowest cost of diesel in November based on data from GlobalPetrolPrices.com.

The report stated that the economies of several African countries are significantly impacted by energy costs, one of which is diesel. For many African nations, affordable energy, especially diesel, is essential to their economic stability.

Lower diesel prices in Africa drive economic growth and development in numerous sectors by lowering operating costs for important industries including manufacturing, transportation, and agriculture.

In many African countries, particularly those with difficulty building strong infrastructure to support cleaner and more sustainable energy options, diesel remains the primary energy source.

As a result, having access to less expensive diesel gives people and businesses much-needed stability and financial respite, especially in nations with low purchasing power.

The global average price of diesel currently is 1.17 U.S. dollars per liter, compared to 1.19 U.S. dollars per liter recorded the month prior.

With the decrease in diesel global average price, Angola, Tunisia, Ethiopia, and Gabon, all had a slight decline in their diesel prices for November, compared to last month.

Only Nigeria and Ghana experienced prices increases. Diesel prices for Libya, Algeria Egypt, and Sudan remained the same.

The top 10 African countries with lowest cost of diesel in November are Libya, Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, Ethiopia,  Nigeria, Gabon and Ghana
