New Development Bank Expands Cooperation with Bangladesh

Addis Ababa, April 22, 2025 (ENA) -- Vice President of the New Development Bank (NDB), Vladimir Kazbekov has completed an official visit to Dhaka, TV BRICS reported citing bank's press service.
The trip was devoted to strengthening partnership with Bangladesh and discussing prospects for financing infrastructure and sustainable development projects.
Kazbekov met with Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser and Head of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
The parties considered possible formats of interaction. Yunus positively assessed the growing participation of the NDB and noted the importance of international financial support for the country's development.
Kazbekov, in turn, reiterated the bank's readiness to actively engage in sustainable development and infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, including clean energy, transport, water supply and digital infrastructure.
It is noted that the New Development Bank considers subsidizing specific projects that are in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Bangladesh's priorities.
The New Development Bank is a multilateral development bank established by BRICS member countries in 2015 with the purpose of mobilizing resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries.
