TWF-Africa Officials Praise Development Projects in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, April 22, 2025 (ENA) -- The Welding Federation of Africa (TWF- Africa) officials, who had been in Addis Ababa for their annual conference, have hailed the development projects carried out in the capital city.

The officials said they were impressed by the potential development projects, including those in conference tourism.

Federation Executive Director Ayo Adeniyi in particular pointed out the warm hospitality and friendliness of the people.

He also praised the landmarks such as the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum and the Addis International Convention and Exhibition Center, calling them exemplary projects that other African nations could emulate.

Adeniyi elaborated that he was pleasantly surprised by what he encountered in Addis Ababa, emphasizing that the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum is a remarkable facility that beautifully encapsulates Ethiopian history and a shared legacy that can inspire growth across Africa.

"I didn’t expect to see what I saw in Addis Ababa. I am also happy with the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum — very fine facility and history… It is quite commendable, showing Ethiopia has some debt that should be shared across Africa to make Africa grow together."

According to him, the impressive scale of the convention center, its extensive facilities and the artistic elements enhance its appeal.

The adjoining hotel with the thousand rooms is also remarkable additions, he stated.

"The convention center is a massive facility, very finely integrated from all I can see, and I loved the cultural or artistic blend of how they beautify…It make you want to stay and also highly complemented with the one thousand rooms hotel that is magical."

TWF- Africa President Hamed Abdelaleem said a significant progress is evident throughout Addis Ababa.

"I can say that there is good development even if Ethiopia is not a rich country. However, there is development that everyone can recognize while walking on the streets in Addis Ababa."

The president also stressed the importance of continued cooperation among African nations to foster mutual development, applauding Ethiopia for its welcoming spirit.

On her part, South African Institute of Welding (SAiW) Acting Executive Director, Confidence Lekoane, expressed her admiration for the ongoing development projects in Addis Ababa.

"Africa must stand firmly behind Ethiopia, which is poised to become a hub for hosting major conferences," she said, praising the Ethiopian government's efforts in developing large-scale infrastructures and development projects.
