Ethiopia, Greece Keen to Bolster Bilateral Ties

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2025 (ENA) --- The longstanding government-to-government and people-to-people relations of Ethiopia and Greece will be strengthened further, House of People's Representatives Speaker Tagesse Chaffo said.
A Greek delegation led by the MP and head of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), Maximos Charakopoulos, had a working visit to the House of People's Representatives (HPR) today.
Speaker Tagesse and House members of the Ethiopia-Western European Countries and European Union Friendship Standing Committee held discussions with the Greek delegation.
During the meeting, the speaker affirmed Ethiopia's commitment to further enhance the longstanding ties between the two nations at both government and public levels.
He also expressed Ethiopia's interest in drawing valuable experiences from Greece in various sectors, including trade and investment.
HPR Chair of the Ethiopia-Western European Countries and European Union Friendship Standing Committee, Dina Mufti, stressed the need for elevating the long-standing friendship between Ethiopia and Greece.
Dina pointed out the potential for fruitful collaboration between the two countries in technology, trade, agriculture, tourism, energy, and various other fields.
He also underscored the importance of closer cooperation between the parliaments of both nations in strengthening people-to-people relations.
On his part, the Greek delegation head Maximos Charakopoulos, expressed Greece's keen interest in learning from Ethiopia's experiences in the tourism and agriculture sectors, indicating a desire for joint cooperation in the areas.
Furthermore, he said Greek is willing to share its expertise with Ethiopia in construction, maritime transport, and various technological domains.
Charakopoulos also noted the importance of increasing the investment engagement of Greek in Ethiopia, according to information obtained from the House of People's Representatives.
