Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Meets with US Department of Treasury Officials

Addis Ababa, April 27, 2025 (ENA) -- Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Ahmed Shide met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of the US Treasury Eric Meyer and held constructive discussions across a broad range of bilateral and global issues at the 2025 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings.

DAS Meyer acknowledged Ethiopia’s economy has shown resilience amid global challenging conditions, thanks to sound macro management and reform measures undertaken by the Government.

 

He encouraged his Ethiopian counterpart to maintain positive momentum on implementation of Ethiopia’s important ongoing reform program that is supporting the modernization and diversification of the economy.

The Minister expressed that Ethiopia remains committed to advancing partnership with the United States in various domains of mutual interest, including trade, investment and regional stability.
